  my wife and i planned on fading but the elders now want a shepherding call and we are just done.

  i know that many play the game to try to stay in, but i'm not a game player and neither is my wife.

  our families already shun us because we reached out to a disfellowshipped family member.

  So, what's the process? We send our letter to a few elders to make sure it is received. How long until they announce? Will they announce at the Halls we grew up in where our families attend?

  My suggestion:
  

  • A short and direct letter stating that you are disfellowshipping them for [insert a reason/reasons here].
  • Get all the names and addresses of the dubs you don't like and send them a copy.
  • Any dubs you do care about, try to speak to them personally.

  JW EXPERT WITNESS FLOORED BY COMMISSION OF INQUIRY LAWYER

  much has already been written about dr monica applewhite, the expert witness hired by the jw organization.

  her job was to provide "expert" testimony to the australian commission of inquiry into jehovsh's witnesses' policies and practices on child sexual abuse.

  astonishingly, dr applewhite was unprepared for the inquiry lawyers' questions.

  I'm assuming that she was only prepared for the US courts where she trots out, says how wonderful WT is, doesn't have her testimony or credentials examined, and collects her check from WT Corp as a paid expert in an individual case.

  This is completely different from a US court trial. This isn't looking at an individual case, the entire collection of procedures and policies is being examined. And it's not just asking about what is legal, this RC seems most concerned about doing what is right and dragging everything wrong out into the light of day.

  In this case, this "Dr. Paid Expert" is part of what it wrong. She deserves to be dragged out into the light and exposed as a bought-and-sold phoney that is perpetuating a system that abuses women and children.

  I just tuned in a few minutes ago. This Dr doesn't seem very credible either as someone knowledgeable of the cult or of handling sexual abuse cases.

  How strange that God's organisation needs tob eg for money

  i would say that if god or jehovah or any other named or nameless god needs money then he/she/it is not much of a god.

  as a poor jw pioneer i scraped by as a way of life serving a god i could not know, see or sense in any way but i swallowed the biblical dogma and recalled that the birds of the air neither toiled nor sowed but were provided for.. so for goodness sake...why is the jw org so concerned with keeping, promoting or downright snatching as much money as they can from the sheep?.

  is it a sign that jehovah has disinherited them?

  Angelo Catanzaro

  i recently heard angelo catanzaro, a rather prominent figure in the organization .. a long-time district overseer and a favorite of knorr's, died recently.

  there was some indication that he and his wife figured out ttatt in their latter years and turned "apostate"... .

  does anyone out there know what happened to them?

  Angelo had been a CO/DO forever... all the way back to when they were called "circuit servants" and served my parents' area before they married and before Angelo married. I last saw he and Mary maybe 10 years ago when they were serving up in the Wallkill/Patterson area. I think Mary had a sister living up there that they would stay with and look after on the weekends. He was certainly up in years but still had energy and enthusiasm. At the time, they were talking about going off the road... very soon now. If he had learned TTATT, I didn't see any particular evidence of that, but then, I wasn't looking. I don't know of any other COs with that name.

  He had a nephew Jonathan (wife Kathy) Catanzaro, as mentioned in the obituary above, who also was or still is a circuit overseer.
